从上表可以看出， A Level 数学一共有 6 个模块。对于只想拿到 AS 等级的考生，只需要考 3 个模块，其中必考模块是 Paper 1: Pure Mathematics 1 和 Paper 3: Pure Mathematics 3. 然后考生可以选择下列两个模块中的任何一个：
Paper 4: Mechanics
Paper 5: Probability & Statistics 1
中国考生参加 A Level 考试通常是为了进大学，所以我们不考虑AS选课组合，只考虑 Full A Level 选课组合。Full A Level 一共要考 4 个模块。那么我们的选择组合是：
必考模块：
Paper 1： Pure Mathematics 1 和
Paper 3: Pure Mathematics 3
选考组合一：
Paper 4: Mechanics 和 Paper 5: Probability & Statics 1
选考组合二：
Paper 5: Probability & Statistics 1 和 Paper 6: Probability & Statistics 2
注意，不存在 Paper 4 和 Paper 6 的组合。因为 Paper 6 的前置课程是 Paper 5.
至于究竟选择哪种组合，那得看学生对自己的大学专业的规划。如果打算走工程路线，那么就选择组合一，因为走工程路线，必须得有 Mechanics 基础；如果打算走商业、金融路线，那么就选择组合二，因为商业金融涉及到 Probability & Statistics 知识比较多。
